Was the COVID-19 lockdown justified, or even lawful? How well has the Rule of Law been upheld in this crisis, by Parliament, the Government, the legal community and the general public? On 21 July 2020, these questions were addressed by Lord Sumption, the well-known former UK Supreme Court Justice, in conversation with leading legal commentator Joshua Rozenberg QC (hon) and with reflections from Judge Ann C. Williams, a former appellate judge of the US 7th Circuit and Of Counsel, Jones Day. This event was hosted by Prospect Magazine and organised with the support of the Bingham Centre and Jones Day.
