Dr Julinda Beqiraj

Biography

Dr. Julinda Beqiraj is the Maurice Wohl Senior Fellow in European Law.  She leads and develops the research and events program in European law and publishes high-quality research for the Institute in this area; proactively pursues Institute-wide research projects in European law areas, (such as human rights trade and the environment), drawing on expertise from across the Institute, as appropriate; and contributes to the Bingham Centre's work on Access to Justice, with a particular focus on efficiency and quality of justice systems in Europe. She is also involved, on occasion, as an expert consultant in Council of Europe and EU-funded projects. 

Prior to joining the Bingham Centre in 2014, Julinda worked for several years as a research fellow and lecturer at the University of Trento, where she taught courses on public international law, EU law, and international economic law. She holds a Ph.D. from the School of International Studies in Trento and her doctoral dissertation focused on the international protection of the economic and social rights of migrant workers.

Julinda has published on topical issues of public international law and has carried out research in a series of projects covering subjects, such as international migration, international economic law, regional human rights protection in Europe, European Union law, child labor issues, international humanitarian law, and international criminal law.
