Ola Ugwu

Biography

Ola is the 2022 Human Rights Lawyers Association Fellow and Head of Public and Youth Engagement Programme at the Bingham Centre, leading the Centre's Citizenship and the Rule of Law school programme across the UK.

Since taking the reins of the Public and Youth Engagement programme at the Bingham Centre, Ola has launched the Rule of Law Digital Hub , a one-stop-shop for Rule of Law education and the House of Lords Youth Engagement series , a platform for London Youth to engage with parliamentarians, academia and expert practitioners on Rule of Law issues that impact on their everyday lives.

Ola previously held senior management positions in Human Resources and Business Development and worked as a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Manager for Procter and Gamble where she developed a 5-year EDI strategy, significantly improving gender equality within the organisation in less than 6 months.

Ola is passionate about the Rule of Law and access to justice for disadvantaged groups and has worked and volunteered with a range of NGOs including Law for Life: Foundation for Public Legal Education.

Ola holds a MA Law degree, an MSc Resources Management degree from the University of Edinburgh and a BSc in Agricultural Economics (First Class Honours).

Ola's research interests cover the Rule of Law, access to justice, public legal education, sustainable development  and human rights law.
