How we are funded

As part of a charitable organisation, we are largely dependent on donations from supporters and from trusts and foundations. We receive donations from law firms, barristers' chambers, individuals and businesses. We receive core funding from the Sigrid Rausing Trust. We also receive research funding for particular projects from the UK Research Councils and from the EU's Horizon 2020 Programme.

Transparency about the funding we receive is an important value for us and a full list of our donors and supporters can be found on the BIICL website. We pride ourselves on the independence and rigour of our work and those who fund us are fully aware that they cannot influence what we say.
