Oliver Garner is a Brexit Research Fellow at the Bingham Centre for the Rule of Law, British Institute of International and Comparative Law. His tenure commenced in September 2019. He holds a B.A. in Jurisprudence from the University of Oxford, an LL.M. in Comparative, European and International Laws from the European University Institute (EUI), and he is a Ph.D. candidate in the Law Department of the EUI. His doctoral research focusses on the constitutional mechanisms for Member State withdrawal and opt-outs from the European Union.
His work has been published in the Cambridge Yearbook of European Legal Studies, the International Journal of Constitutional Law, the European Journal of Legal Studies, the European Law Blog, Verfassungsblog, and the UK Constitutional Law Association Blog. He was previously employed as a Research Associate on the EU-CITZEN project of the Robert Schuman Centre of Advanced Studies in Florence, Italy.
