Strengthening the Quality and Efficiency of Justice in Albania (2018)

In the framework of the Council of Europe's Commission on the Efficiency of Justice (CEPEJ)/European Union Joint Action on "Strengthening the efficiency and quality of Justice in Albania" and in the context of the on-going reform process of the judiciary, CEPEJ is supporting Albanian authorities to increase the efficiency of the justice system in line with European standards.

The Bingham Centre will provide support in the training of judges and court staff.

Training of Court Chancellors on Time Management and Judicial Statistics

Julinda Beqiraj (Bingham Centre) alongside other CEPEJ experts led a two-day training course for Chancellors, on 22 and 23 February 2018, in Durres (Albania). The training was organised in cooperation with the Albanian School of Magistrates (SOM). Following recent legislative changes, Chancellors in Albania will be responsible for the good administration of the courts and for the management of trials. In view of building court capacity to deliver a better justice service, the training is part of the efforts to improve court management in Albania and the collection and use of judicial statistics for this purpose.
